EDrive actuators are designed, manufactured, tested, and serviced in West Hartford, CT.  Founded in 1980, EDrive Design, Inc. initially developed a wide variety of heavy duty ball screw linear actuators, targeting the machine tool retrofit market. Thus, we established our guiding principles of conservative design, rugged construction, long life, and high precision.

EDrive manufactures electro-mechanical linear servo actuators that replace hydraulic cylinders for motion control applications. EDrive has shown consistent success in the toughest applications, e.g. high loads, high speeds, high precision, and extreme durability. Precision ball screw systems, tailored for maximum life, load and speed, provide the motion while fully enclosed, thus eliminating contamination related failures.

A "standardized" product line facilitates ready availability; however, modified designs in the interest of easing the customers' utilization of our products is done willingly. EDrive is focused on understanding the application, recommending the optimum solution, and making it easier for the customer to mechanically and electrically interface with their existing equipment. EDrive continues to expand the capabilities of its products; with the most recent addition of the HDL™ offering an internal load cell for precise control of force as well as position and motion.

After market service also remains a high priority. Emergency repairs are routinely performed within one day.  If the required ballscrew is not in stock, a typical rebuild is 4-5 days.

GSX SERIES INTEGRATED MOTOR ACTUATOR

GSX Series integrated motor actuators integrate all the advantages of Exlar® roller screw and T-LAM stator technologies to create powerful and robust solutions with long life. The specially designed roller screw mechanism efficiently converts electric motor power into linear motion. Planetary rollers, assembled around the extending rod, follow threads that are precisely machined on the inside of the actuator’s hollow rotor.

The FT Series actuators from Exlar® use a planetary roller screw mounted inside an extruded aluminum housing. These electric linear actuators are compatible with a wide range of standard motors. Motor mounting and gearing configurations are available to meet the requirements of a wide variety of applications. The standard product is offered in four frame sizes with standard stroke lengths up to 48 inches (1219 mm) and a load rating up to 40,000 lbf (177 kN).

The EL Series of explosion proof actuators is deal for valve control, as well as many other applications in hazardous environments.
